If you’re a student in London, then you’re in the best possible situation ever. London has so much to offer. Apart from the great food, theatres, special events, and amazing parks… London has an awesome clubbing scene. We’re going to give you the names of three of the best clubs for students in London. Although these are good options for students, they’re not known as student nightclubs or bars; they’re higher-end nightclubs that the trendiest university students enjoy.
Cuckoo Club
Nestled in a small road just off Regent Street, Cuckoo Club is a London staple. It’s definitely not a student bar or club, but it attracts a young, diverse crowd, many of whom are studying at London’s well-known universities such as Regent’s University, City University, UCL, and more. Cuckoo Club features hip-hop on the upper floor and house music on the lower floor, with a VIP section behind the DJ booth on both floors. As the night progresses, the hype increases. You’ll find people singing, dancing, and enjoying themselves. Mingling at Cuckoo Club is easy, because not everyone there has to have a table booking, and many come in on the Cuckoo guestlist instead, making it a great spot for students to meet people.
Luxx Club London
Similar to Cuckoo Club, Luxx Club London is a well-known nightclub in Mayfair. It’s slightly larger than most Mayfair nightclubs, but it’s no less exclusive. Luxx Club features hip-hop, R&B, and pop music with a live MC and dancers as well. It’s a popular spot for students because the crowd is young and vibrant. Like Cuckoo Club, Luxx is a great place to mingle and meet people. Make sure to dress to impress; after all, it is a Mayfair club!
At the back of Luxx, there’s a large bar area where much of the mingling takes place. Ladies have the opportunity to join the Luxx guestlist and be part of a promoter table if they’re not looking for a private table. Gentlemen will need to opt for bottle service or confirm in advance if being on the guestlist is possible.
Ministry of Sound
Ministry of Sound is much more casual than Luxx Club or Cuckoo Club, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. Ministry of Sound has featured renowned DJs. Tickets or VIP tables are both options; prices vary depending on the night and event. Ministry of Sound, often referred to as ‘MoS’, can accommodate over 1000 people.
Many different types of people go to MoS, so you’re sure to make friends. You’ll meet students and non-students alike, people of many different ages and backgrounds. The party goes on until very late, so be sure to stay hydrated to avoid a hangover!
What Makes a Place the Best Club for Students in London?
As a student, the first thing you should try to find out about a venue is the average age range of the people there. If you’re around 20 years old, it might be boring for you to be in a club with a much older crowd. You should also consider your budget. Are you interested in exclusive venues that offer experiences and sell tables, or are you looking for something casual where you can walk in?
Finally, the music is a factor. If you’re not a fan of house music, it’ll be hard to have a fun night in a house music club or to relate to others there. Age restriction is important too; some venues only allow entry for those aged 21 and above, so double check that you meet the age requirement.
London offers a vibrant nightlife scene with a variety of options to cater to different preferences and budgets. From high-end clubs like Cuckoo Club and Luxx Club to more casual venues like Ministry of Sound, there’s something for everyone.
