Whether you’re new to the city or the London clubbing scene, you’re going to want to read this. As expert London club promoters, we’ve been in the scene for more than enough time and we’ve seen plenty both as clients ourselves and as promoters — enough to write a whole book in fact. What we found was that when it comes to having a good time clubbing in London, it all comes down to a few things. This is your crash course, a list of clubbing tips from your friendly neighbourhood London club promoters.

Always Book in Advance

It sounds simple and it should be, but you have no idea how many people don’t book in advance because they want their night to have a flexible feel.

So, to avoid derailing your entire night, just book in advance. It only takes a text, and we’ll handle the rest for you in minutes.

Skip the Pre-Drinks

In reality, there’s nothing wrong with pre-drinks. The only problem is when you can’t handle your liquor. Safety and comfort are a number one priority for high-end clubs in London, which is why they don’t allow entry in the case of someone being visibly tipsy or drunk — it’s never fun for anyone. If you’d like to enjoy a couple of drinks with friends before you head to the club, that’s all good and well, just don’t overdo it.

Dress Well

All exclusive clubs in Mayfair have a strict dress to impress dress code policy, which means heels, smart and chic outfits and smart attire are mandatory. Now, you can either put in the least amount of effort to get you through the door or you bring your A game.

From what we’ve seen as London club promoters, dressing better elevates your experience beyond what you can imagine.

Firstly, you feel better and more confident when you’re well-dressed, and it shows on your face and in your energy. When you feel good and you’ve got good vibes around, people will naturally be drawn to you. If you’re the one approaching, they will be more open to you.

Second, there are perks to looking good, like free drinks, after-party invites, VIP section invites, and smoother-flowing connections.

We think first impressions start forming when you speak, but the truth is, they start forming when they spot you.

Arrive on Time

On-time arrival is probably the one thing we’ve seen people ignore the most. It’s not because your London club promoter is a pain that they’re telling you to arrive on time. It’s because we know when the best time to arrive is. That’s the time when the party is buzzing and the queue is relatively non-existent. It’s the time before the club reaches full capacity. The time before the guestlist closes. The time before doors close. You have no idea how many celebrities people have missed out on because they arrived after the time we recommended.

Communicate

As your London club promoter, we’re here to show you a good time at the end of the day. If you have any questions about the club or the night, tell us. You don’t have to ask everyone you know, get mixed answers, and panic. Just ask and you’ll get a straight answer. More importantly, if you’re having any issues — late arrival, no physical ID, dress code malfunction, or won’t be able to make it anymore — tell us in advance. There are some things we can do to help, but we can’t help you if you don’t tell us ahead of time.

The One Club Rule

If you’re trying to make the most out of the London club scene, you don’t want to go club-hopping. One club per night is the rule. If you really want to go to more than one club, you could go to a club for the main party, then another for the after party.

What we absolutely don’t recommend is going to more than one club on the same night. To do that, you’ll have to leave one club too early, before the party even starts to peak. At your second location, you’ll arrive only to queue up for a needlessly long time and miss the peak at the second club, too.

If you really want to visit as many clubs as possible, there are clubs open every day of the week. We can pack your week with clubbing nights if you’re up for it. The reward for club-hopping is rarely worth it.
